For Colored Girls Fund

In addition to supporting WSFM’s core menu of programs and services for BIPOC girls, women, and LGBTQI+ people, WSFM is introducing the For Colored Girls Fund as a response to the drastic increase of suicide rates amongst women of color. WSFM has lost two black woman friends to suicide. For those of you connected to Aida Fitzgerald, her family has designated WSFM and Collective Action for Safe Spaces as two organizations to donate to in honor of Aida.

Centering Mental Health

WSFM has designated contributions for Aida to support the new For Colored Girls Fund, which will help women of color who are doing justice work and are not able to afford their mental healthcare. The fund is titled after the book, “For Colored Girls who have Considered Suicide when the Rainbow is Enuf,” which centers the wide-ranging experiences of Black women and weaving the interconnected stories of love, empowerment, struggle and loss. When making a donation to this fund, please note: “For Colored Girls Fund.”
